New Sewer Plant
Due to the age and capacity restrictions of the current wastewater treatment plant, the Village Board approved building a new plant to better accommodate our growing community. Beginning summer of 2021, a new plant will be built across the road from the current plant on County Rd. J/Florence St. This project will take approx. 2 1/2 years to complete and is expected to be operational by late 2023 or early 2024.
The plant will be funded by incremental increases in sewer rates over the next few years. A USDA Rural Development loan has been approved in the amount of $18,075,000 with a $3,575,000 grant (actual loan amount is $14,500,000) to cover construction costs. As part of the application and approval process of the loan, USDA required various studies and documents to be publicly available (see below).
If you have questions about the new wastewater treatment plant, please contact Public Works Director, Brad Boldt at 715-684-2535 or Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer Tracy Carlson at 715-684-3426 x116.
