Clerk's Office
The Village Clerk's Office is the central location for questions, concerns and comments for village residents. The Village Clerk's office is staffed by three dedicated employees. At the Clerk's office, residents will find information on elections, water/sewer payments and questions, zoning questions, bill payments, taxes and so much more. Some of the statutory duties of the clerk are listed below.
Duties of the Village Clerk
The Village Clerk's Office is responsible for the following duties:
- The Village Clerk attends all board meetings, records proceedings and is responsible for the minutes from these meetings.
- Indexing of Village Board Minutes, all legal documents and recording necessary documents with St. Croix County.
- Administration of Oaths of Office for members of boards and commissions.
- Preparation and distribution of notification of all board meetings and committee meetings.
- Preparation and distribution of the board meeting agendas and packets.
- Filing of the annual treasurer’s report and tax levy.
- Preparation of the annual budget.
- Municipal code questions and historical research.
- Process Freedom of Information requests that are received.
- Prepares and conducts lottery for placement on the ballot of those nominated at the annual caucus, manages elections and certifies local election results and delivers to St. Croix County Clerk.
