Committees & Commissions
The Ambulance Committee oversees Baldwin EMS, it's operations and staff. It makes recommendations to the Village Board as necessary. This committee meets quarterly or as needed.

The Budget and Finance Committee meets as necessary. They review financial reports, assist with budget planning and oversee the financial position of the Village. They make recommendations to the Village Board based on staff recommendations and needs.

The Parks and Recreation Committee members are responsible for making decisions about the Village parks and opportunities for recreation. They work closely with the Public Works Department. They meet as needed.

The Plan Commission oversees the functions of the office of the Zoning Administrator and reviews and advises the governing body on all proposed amendments to zoning codes, maps and texts. They review plans for new commercial buildings, parking lots, signs (over 40' sq. ft), certified survey maps etc. A request form is used and fee paid to be placed on the Planning Commission agenda. The Commission is comprised of seven members - two Village Board members and five citizen members. They are appointed annually.
The Police Commission is appointed annually by the Village Board. Their purpose is to oversee the Police Department hiring of officers and to oversee disciplinary issues and possible dismissals. They also work closely with the Chief of Police. The commission is comprised of five members, one of which is the Village Board President.
They meet as needed or requested.

The Public Safety/Personnel Committee oversees concerns from citizens regarding safety issues and they work with staff on personnel issues and concerns. They are appointed annually and meet as needed.

The Streets/Building Committee meets to discuss issues and concerns regarding the streets and village-owned buildings. The will often discuss maintenance issues and upkeep of village property. They meet as needed or requested by citizens and staff.

The United Civic Center Commission is a group the was created to oversee the use of United Civic Center, specifically for the Blackhawk Hockey Association. The Commission is comprised of one village board member, two citizen members and two members of the Hockey Association. They meet as needed.

The Water/Sewer Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Village Board about the water and sewer utilities. The Committee is comprised of two Village Board members and is appointed annually. They meet as needed or requested.
