Annual Budget Information
FISCAL YEAR
The fiscal year for the Village of Baldwin is Jan. 1 - Dec. 31.
BUDGET PROCESS
The budget process begins in September/October and culminates in November when the required public hearing is held and the budget is reviewed and approved by the Village Board. The general budget is a guide that is used by the department heads and Village Board to provide necessary services to village residents.
TAX LEVY
Property taxes are calculated on taxes levied by various taxing jurisdictions. The taxing jurisdictions for the Village include the Baldwin-Woodville School District, NorthwoodsTechnical College, St. Croix County and the Village of Baldwin. The tax levy that each of these jurisdictions require for operation are included as part of the property tax bill that you receive if you own property in the Village. The total tax levy is determined by mid-late November.
TAX BILLS
Tax bills are sent by mail no later than Dec. 20 annually. Property taxes are due Jan. 31 and July 31 annually and are paid to St. Croix County Treasurer's office.
